Feedback from previous years handbook have been very positive with schools, Connexions and users stating that the Handbook provides an easy to read access to the Apprenticeships available in the Humber sub-region and quick reference contact details of Apprenticeship and Foundation Learning Providers in the sub-region. As with the previous Handbook the detail in the hard copy publication will not be to duplicate the online Area Prospectus but to enhance this as a vehicle to provision you can offer.

CfL are in the process of developing the 2011-2012 Apprenticeship Handbook. Unlike previous years were the handbook has solely featured provision from the Humber, this year’s handbook will feature provision on offer in North Yorkshire.

The NUS is organising the very first get together for Apprentices from across the country! Taking place in London on the 11th June in London, The Big Apprentice Get Together offers a great opportunity to help improve the experiences of all apprentices, where NUS will be listening to what apprentices have got to say and make recommendations that improve the opportunities for current and future learners.

At the recent CfL Network Meeting, the network identified a number of key issues and challenges effecting Work Based Learning. These issues included Guided Learning Hours, NQF to QCF Transfer and the new Adult Skills Budgets.

The Apprenticeship Information and Advice Workshop is based around a lesson plan, utilising a powerpoint presentation and additional resources. As part of the workshop an evaluation is issued to pupils to complete. The evaluation collects information on content and delivery of the workshop and in addition requests possible post 16 career choice and route.
