July's edition of the CfL Newsletter "CfL Network News" is now available
The third edition of the CfL Newsletter “CfL Network News - The Work Based Learning Newsletter for the Humber & North Yorkshire" is now available for download.
Inside this edition we feature information about the latest edition of the Apprenticeship Handbook, which is currently being developed and for the first time will feature Apprenticeship provision across both the Humber and North Yorkshire. 28,000 copies of the handbook will be developed and distributed to all secondary schools across the Humber and North Yorkshire, sufficient for each Year 11 pupil to receive their own copy, with copies to all Connexions centres for use as part of their information advice and guidance to young people seeking an Apprenticeship.
An update by the forum for Apprentices in the Humber – the Humber Apprentice Panel (HAP), includes its proactive work with the National Union of Students (NUS) to develop the new National Society for Apprentices discount card by attending the first Apprentice only NUS event.
There is also an article on the sixth Advanced Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony, which is due to be held this October and a report on our successful Progression from Apprenticeship project which highlights potential opportunities within Higher Education to Advanced Apprentices.
Also in this edition we feature an article from Avant Partnership (a wholly owned subsidiary of CfL), regarding the success of the Young Apprenticeship Programme, which has realised outstanding achievement rates over the last five years.
There are some great case studies and success stories in this edition from a number of CfL members, including reports of successful Ofsted inspections at both HYA Training and Intuitions School of Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. Other members sharing their successes and those of their Apprentices include Bishop Burton College, Grimsby Institute, HETA, Hull Business Training Centre, Prospect Training and SouthBank Training.
Our newsletter distribution list included subscribers who all have internet and email access, so distribution continues to all of our members and other providers and stakeholders, including local 14-19 partnerships, EBP, Connexions, funding bodies, local authorities, NAS and schools.
